I first started working on Electroblues on march of 2026. I've been learning web development on and off for about three years, but never actually started a project such as this one. That was until I first heard of Neocities and how much creative freedom you could have over your own online space. Social media and its short form content filled with AI and overconsumption trends were taking its toll on my attention span, productivity and mental health, so I decided to quit it for good — except for YouTube and Pinterest — and work on a personal space where I could have a more mindful online experience.

My interest in technology started when I was around 8. My dad got me my first computer and he'd buy me magazines that came with with CDs filled with hundreds of Flash games. My eldest brother would also install games for me — such as Sims 1, Worms Armageddon and Super Mario World on the Snes emulator —. I could only access the internet from time to time (which btw would feel like a huge event), so I'd spend most of my time not only playing games, but also poking around Windows XP and toggling random settings just for fun. I absolutely loved the avatars, the little assistants, the wallpapers, my MS Paint drawings, the Windows Media Player visualizers... It all felt like a personal little playground.
As time passed and I stepped into adulthood, I started to miss that feeling, and when I found out about Neocities, it felt like a way to not only bring a bit of that childlike wonder back, but also build a space that felt genuinely mine.
